According to various sources, including the Lincoln Journal Star, the Nebraska Cornhuskers have received commitments from two quality wing scorers in 6-7 Nick Fuller and 6-5 Nathan Hawkins while they took unofficial visits to the Lincoln campus.

Nick Fuller, who is from Sun Prairie, WI High, impressed us every time we saw him this spring. He has range to the NBA arc and is a real rifleman from beyond on the perimeter. He has the ball skills to create drive and the strength to finish versus contact in the paint. He takes a blue-collar attitude to both the defensive end and on the boards that he will out work you to get the job done, and usually does. He has shown with the Wisconsin Swing that he can take on the nation’s top athletes and get job done. He is the kind of competitor who will be part of the solution as the Cornhuskers look to move toward first division finishes in the Big ten and the opportunity to play in the NCAA’s down the road.

He chose Nebraska over interest from Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Creighton, Butler, Drake, and Marquette.

Nathan Hawkins, who is from Rowlett, TX High, showed he can get to the hoop off the dribble this past summer with the Dallas Mustangs. He has the ability to grab the rebound and take it end to end or start break and make the pass. He has excellent quickness and length to guard both the two and three spots on the perimeter and when coupled with Fuller will give the Cornhuskers the versatility you need to compete for first division finishes in the future. For him it was the vision of where he and Fuller fit into the Cornhusker’s plans that sold him on Nebraska, as he told the Journal Star.

“He (Miles) laid out a plan of success for the team, and him having the background he does for turning teams around and getting them to where he wants to go is really impressive,” Hawkins told the Journal Star. “I want to be a part of that new Nebraska team.”

He chose Nebraska over interest from Kansas State, UTEP, Oklahoma State, and SMU.

This gives Coach Miles and his Nebraska Staff a running start into fall recruiting, a fall that could be a successful one for the Huskers!

We will continue to follow Coach Miles and his Nebraska staff as they continue to add talent to the Cornhusker coffers this fall!
