Nation’s Top Junior has Three in Hot Pursuit
Make no mistake about it, 6-8 point forward Andrew Wiggins can take over a game offensively, and dominate in stretches of the game, and that ability hasn’t gone unnoticed by the top schools across the country.
Right now, Florida State (dad Mitch went there), Kentucky, and Ohio State are in contact with me the most,” Andrew Wiggins told XOFan at the Peach Jam. “Plus, I’m also looking at Syracuse, Duke, West Virginia and Marquette.”
“I haven’t narrowed it down or eliminated other schools from calling,” Wiggins continued. “I’ll do that later, just not sure when.”
“Right now, I’m just concentrating on the summer,” He said. “And I’m looking forward to winning a national championship this coming year at Huntington Prep.”
A lofty goal for the regular season, for sure, but Wiggins knows that he is going to have to continue to get better if he is going to be able to lead Huntington to that goal.
“I really need to work on not taking plays off,” Wiggins said. “I have to give a consistent effort and turn up the motor on both ends of the court. I need to give 100% on every possession!”
Wiggins has all the tools to be a one and done talent if he can turn up his motor for a full thirty-two minutes. He can score from three with jumper or knock down pull-up to keep “D” honest, but is known for his monstrous highlight dunks and high flying finishes in the paint. He definitely left the crowd buzzing on numerous occasions in North Augusta.
As far as what will draw him to his future college choice he told us.
“I’m looking for a school with great facilities, great coaches, solid people around the program, and a great support staff.”
Wiggins according to our man in the east, Chris Lawlor was a no show in Atlantic City where his CIA Bounce team is playing more on that later.
XOFan.com will continue to follow his recruitment as he moves forward and looks to take visits and make his final college choice.
