Penn State Adds West Coast Wing
Pat Chambers and his Penn State staff have received a commitment from a tough and athletic west coast wing man.
The Nittany Lions received a call from 6-5 215-pound Payton Banks from Orange, CA Orange Lutheran High and the physical tweener told Coach Chambers that he was going to sign with Penn State this fall.
Banks averaged 15.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists as a junior for Orange Lutheran to team with Gabe York to lead his squad to the CIF 1A title and earn ALL-CIF 1A first team honors. He is a physical forward, capable of playing both forward spots. He can knock down the mid-range jumper with range or finish at the rim with bounce or grab board then run the break. He will give Pat Chambers squad a hard-nosed rebounder who is built for Big 10 wars on the glass.
He chose Penn State over Pepperdine and Nevada.
