Penn State Nittany Lions add Minnesota point
Patrick Chambers and his Penn State Nittany Lions staff have added a floor leader for the future with the commitment of 6-0 point Graham Woodward from Edina, MN High
One of the late summer’s top surprises, the 6-0 Woodward led the Minnesoota Pump N Run squad deep into the Adidas 64 tournament and had a lot of coaches buzzing about his ability to pass the rock and knock down jump shots from NBA range. But, like a lot of small points he got overlooked after the summer by a number of those programs that liked him in Vegas…much to the delight of the Penn State staff who went after him hard.
That perseverience paid off as Woodward chose Penn State over Gonzaga and Washington State.
He has a lot of the same kind of game skills and approach to the game as former Penn State guard Joe Crispin. He’s undersized, but tough on the ball defensively, has deceptive quicks and if you leave him alone on the perimeter, he’ll drain the jumper. Whether he can have a Crispin type career is only going to be known two or three years from now, but he will give Pat Chambers club added depth at the point and potentially a steal down the road, so stay tuned!
