Boilermakers Offer 2014 Athlete Deion Hallmon
Weston (Fla.) Cypress Bay High School athlete Deion Hallmon just received his second Division 1 scholarship offer and has been getting a lot of interest from other programs as well.
“Yeah, Purdue offered,” Hallmon said. “Mississippi State, they are about to offer. Today I just had the Mississippi State coach talking to me, FAU and Florida State Coach Craig is talking to me.”
Last week, Florida State recruiting coordinator Dameyune Craig made the trip down from Tallahassee, Fla. to south Florida.
“Florida State, I like them,” Hallmon said. “Coach Craig sounds like a cool guy. He is always talking to me and stuff. He was at our St. Thomas game.”
He is looking hard at his most recent offer, Purdue. “As of right now, Purdue is getting a lot of my attention. They want me to come down, visit and everything. Yeah, I am really considering them, but at the same time I am waiting and giving everyone a chance.”
Several colleges have extended game invites to the 6’0, 162-pound cornerback. “The Hurricanes invited me to their game, FAU and Florida State invited me to their game.”
His junior season, much like his recruitment, is off to a good start.
“Right now I have two interceptions and six tackles for the season so far,” Hallmon said. “I am like a ball-hawk this year. I am at receiver too. They have me doing sweeps and bombs, stuff like that.”
The 2014 prospect holds offers from Wake Forest and Purdue, both of whom will likely receive an unofficial visit this year.
